Have you found yourself creating more art during the pandemic or rather stuck in a state of distraction and lack of focus?

I returned to art shortly before the pandemic. I've caught myself oscillating between very productive and completely burned out. I'll start a project or a sketch and abandon it, not touch anything for weeks, or draw all weekend and wonder where the time went.

My kids convinced me that sharing art online would help with the feelings of isolation during the pandemic. I just joined Doodle Addicts but I'm already more inspired than I've been for quite some time - even before the pandemic.

It's like it amplified all the worst traits of my ADHD and put my PTSD on high alert. Not able to make myself do much of anything but eat, lie in the sun (or hammock) and watch TikTok.

Half and Half. I've had the time but it has been divided between getting the house in order, building a new routine, and getting familiar with watercolor. Drawing has been a stress reliever but I've used my time to build skill instead of just draw.

Not art as such but I've made an online game, to do collaborative drawings, based on the classic "Exquisite Corpse" pen and paper game https://monsterland.frb.io

To be honest, I've done A LOT of work during the shutdown. Since I'm an Art Teacher in public school, the nature of my job forced me to be creative. This was very evident during my eLearning ZOOM classes with my students. Using my iPad Pro connected to my PC laptop, I was drawing, modeling lessons and demonstrating all the time. As a result, I developed and published an online graphic novel about the pandemic https://blog.immortalartist.com/p/covid-world-19-graphic-novel-by.html took Crowdcast and Skillshare classes, attended webinars for personal / professional as an Artist / Educator. Being an "Introvert In Disguise" I've enjoyed the quiet of being home, yet miss hanging out with my colleagues at school, getting a pint of Guiness with my friends.

When I was working from home I was creating more since I didn't have the 1-1.5 hours of commuting to work. Now that I'm back in the office I am not creating as much and dreaming about it more so.

I finished a project towards the start of the pandemic and I haven’t finished anything since. I have 3 projects lined up, but no motivation to start them.

In the first half of this year alone, I created the same amount of work (drawings/artworks, photos, the lot) as I did in the entirety of 2019, and it's still ongoing for the most part... Long story short: I've had prolific periods early on in lockdown and then, quite simply, they've dried up. Right now I'm in a grey area, but all is well for the most part :)

I work retail (front end supervisor,) so I'm working full 40+ hour weeks. I know a lot of people stuck at home are going insane, but I wish I was home sometimes just so I could focus on my art more. I don't have a lot of time or inspiration these days,

Personally for me, having productive days, may it be school or classes, keeps my mind active and helps me to create! Since the pandemic, I have not created as much as I did before. I need a huge boost to start drawing/doodling again. With school assignments and constant tests and exams, I don't find enough time to do what I love the most.

Yes I go through the stage of drawing ever chance I get with all kind of ideas in my head to my mind being just a blank sheet. And the I start to think "Why am I doing all these drawings and asking myself who is going to see all this work I've done and doesn't it matter to anyone but me." Then I see an image or a photo and pick up paper an pencil and start drawing....

I am a Student at a University. I am studying Virtual communities and I chose this one to study because I love art. Before the pandemic I did art maybe twice a year. Now that I joined Doodle Addicts during the Pandemic I am doing a bit more.

@artsypants @artsypants I feel the same way when I am in school and working. Art is the last thing I have time for. At least we have some motivation here to do art.

I actually started art during quarantine but it’s so hard for me to sit down and do something because when I see all these other amazing artists (that have probably been practicing for way longer than me) I get discouraged because my work doesn’t come out as I imagine it.

I think the minimization of a social life leaves me creatively dry- it seems people motivate my tendency to make art, and conversely, Covid leaves me morally bankrupt. But I have seen that Facebook is not relationship or friendship, ditched it, and have more time in which to paint if I 'will' to!

I find myself drawing more often. I also found myself joining more social medias, like this website (even tho 80% of the users here are professional adults)
