In Kansas City there are lots of options, but I always think of these when I think of KC landmarks.

A piece from my vernal pools/treescapes studies I have been working on in correlation to my interest in local creature found in our woodlands. I adopted the use of a circle one night, wanting to frame out an idea/sketch and a wine glass happened to be close by. Since then I have used it often, loving the circle aspect.

This study is for an upcoming painting about the life of Christ. The drawing itself took about two weeks’ time of working on it off and on. The research stage took about two months. This study is attempting to capture the spirit of being out on the water, walking with Jesus during a storm on the sea of Galilee. I hope the viewer can feel Peter’s anxiety as he is sinking into the lake as a fierce storm drains Peter’s faith in his ability to walk on water through the ability the Lord gave him. I wanted to show how compassionate Jesus is to quickly crouch down to rescue Peter from drowning and get him back to the safety of the boat with the rest of the disciples, which is outside of the illustration. Some people feel that I should have Jesus’s feet visible above the water so people don’t get the notion that Jesus is sinking in the water too. But if I’d done that, it would have altered what it would really look like in the natural world, because even if Jesus’s feet were on top of the water, this might not be visible to the viewer because the waves in front of Jesus might block the view of his feet. This illustration makes me think about trying to accomplish a task that the Lord has called us to do by depending on our own strength instead of the strength of the Holy Spirit. Then we find ourselves sinking instead of making headway, and we must call on the Lord to rescue us and put us back on the right track. (September 22, 2015

This may be reflected in a spiritual manner, creating astral towers of which protect the magician from any attacks. In the Black Mirror, Malthus may be then invoked into the magician, as a part of recalling the spirit as an atavism. This will strengthen the mental aspect of the individual who seeks to create a solid essence of self which may not be attacked by spiritual means. Malthus builds towers and fills them with ammunition and weapons, and can outright incite war. He is also said to send his legions into battle, or to places designated by higher commanding demons. He burns towns; it is also said that he builds towns and fills them with armed men. Malthus takes swords to the wicked and sends men either to battlefields or to other places. Malthus has his own challenge which it that his opponent must bring back more Mamedanuki skins than Malthus himself can capture in one cycle of the moon; he counts a tie as a loss on his part, as he says he is a perfectionist. All leaders of the 26 legions serving under Malthus have been given names. A fun drawing to do. I usually do a lot of crosshatching, but for this one I went for the smoothness, better to capture the light, I suppose, where crosshatching can be a little distracting. Or look like hair! As some have said.

Casey the Puppet. This painting captures the essence of a puppet lots of older Canadians will remember. A strange genderless creature with a dog puppet companion. A puppet with an outspoken personality that I remember as a kid wondering how it got away with saying what it did. The painting has a Canadian stamp to commemorate the puppet's roots.

(HB pencil on 110mm x 78mm paper) When doing this form of automatic drawing, strange characters and weird objects do take shape, leaving the rest of the image as dream construct.

I start this just doing random doodling at upper black part and because it looks quite nice i start to search reference from my phone. Found one shot month ago at beach with dramatic clouds

The Wizard is gone. The Ranger's blade has broken, but his spirit is on fire still, and he will conquer every foe in Mordor . The Ice Alf is surely out of his element in these lands of fiery doom, but he has an oath to honor to brother to captain and to king, also, there'es no way he'll be upstaged by the dwarf . The Dwarf, one victim amongst many, the difference is that he still breathes, and that is their biggest mistake.

I love cities. Especially the lights at night.
