Hello, my name is Jim Romer,
and I'm a doodle addict.

I've been in the toy industry for decades. Working for companies like Russ Berrie, Commonwealth Toys, and Disney. Around 2001, I started working in the Amusement Industry, helping create many licensed characters; from little crane machine plush to the giant size plush items you see at amusement parks. Then in 2006, I started working directly with China factories, creating products mass-market retailers like Target, Petsmart and Walmart.

I specialize in animation, cartoons, character design, childrens illustration, digital art, pen and ink, whimsical illustration.

UPDATE: Fantasy Reading Scene (for SCBWI)

UPDATE: I was working on this illustration a while back, but I had no spare time and had to put it aside. The composition was too busy, but now I think it looks a little better. I made a few major changes, like: • Made adjustments to light sources • Created bolder outlines • Got rid of the Knight reading over the dragon's shoulder

This is the 3rd of the 3 glow-in-the-dark space satellite poster series. This concept sketch was done on a digital tablet with pencil setting. Will try to up the finished version tomorrow.
