This image is part of my "Leading Ladies" series, about progressive women in US politics.

In 2017, I tried the Inktober challenge and failed miserably. I made two drawings, no inking. This one was supposed to illustrate the word "swift" for the first day, but it fit better with the word of the 11th day "run". Anyway, I really ran that day and I drew that with my sore muscles and my body filled with pain. The doodle in my sketchbook was messy, so I redraw it.

Been out of the hospital for four months. Struggling to lessen the urge to self harm. Breathing meditating and purging of the negative with soft pure thoughts containing flowers surrounding every image of my heart.

This time, again, two combinations. I believe the hues are very nice and calming. I used yellow ochre as the yellow color (PY 43, PY 1). On the upper part, the cobalt blue (PB 28) is used, on the lower part - it's ultramarine (PB 29).

English: Appropriationism or Remake is a simple concept. Indeed, it is enough to take again the work of an artist and to sign the new production of his name. It is not a question of copying the work as a forger could do. It is not a question of plagiarizing the work. As far as I'm concerned, I use the famous work of a recognized artist. By reusing a pre-existing and famous original work, condition sine qua non, I propose to pay tribute. It is by no means a lack of inspiration especially when we now know that: "art is born of art and not of nature": Ernst Gombrich. This is a simple abstract I made with watercolor on a vertical watercolor paper strip.

This was the very first mermaid illustration that I've created for my business called Dream Pigment. I ran a small print run of this image and have sold this at comic book conventions and art events.
