I’m disappointed or broken my heart because of that sometimes. But that’s why the world is colorful and beautiful. So I’ll leave things I can’t understand and just love what i love and who I love.
Starring The Beach Boys: Good Vibrations (1967). Featuring Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures (1979). Let me tell you a story about a tragic genius ahead of his time. About a songwriter who wrote his songs on a piano situated in a sand box. About a musician combining a variety of tapes to create this carefree beach sound. About a man who was afraid of the audience and who broke down under the pressure. Tricolor linoprint using one lino plate. June, 2020.
Starring Joy Division: Radio, Live Transmission (1979). Let me tell you a story about dancing to the radio to escape the day. About the feeling that "no language, just sound, that's all we need know, to synchronise". About media enriching your life. About media invading your life. Tricolor linoprint using one lino plate. Back and Front covers from my new comic, FISH. I imagined, sketched, and inked 24 pages in 24 hours for 24 Hour Comics Day. I then colored it, scanned and did the layouts in the following days. Took a week total. Started it Saturday morning nd I sent it off to the printer the following Saturday!
Wanted to draw some floaty dudes! These poses are all referenced from Pinterest, the only thing from my brain was the coloured character’s design. I just needed to practise
Inktober prompt: Hope. White and red ink on black paper. (For some reason the scan makes the white look a little blue, but I only used the two colours.)
Inktober 2020, day 9: "Throw". The idea is kind of nicked from Avarre, an old friend on deviantart, who did a similar image many moons ago (https://www.deviantart.com/avarre/art/Syntax-Error-14749038). But hey, at least, I’m crediting ;)
