Here's a drawing I did of Midna from Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. I love this game most out of any of the Legend of Zelda games, in the story line, artwork, and music, and thought I'd try my hand at drawing one of my favorite characters, if not most favorite, from it.
One of my original characters from a series of novels I am currently working on. This is Selnam Nameless, a refugee from the planet Jehikar. He is full of secrets.

Anywaaay...! This illustration is a fan art of the two main characters from relatively unknown PS2 classic, Okage. If you haven't heard of it or paid it much attention before, it's a must-play if you don't tire of JRPGs!! I have had an ongoing project called Hybrid Mythologies. Inspired by stories and mythological creatures, tales from different traditions and parts of the world, I have been playing with emergent stories, characters and creatures that incorporate different elements. It is really a kind of spontaneous, intuitive journey and play of associations - oftentimes surprising to myself in what emerges. This year I am planning to publish an artbook entitled Hybrid Mythologies and if it all goes according to plan, it should be done some time in May. I will post process from this book.
Decided to draw my babies after a long time. They're characters from a short story/novel I wrote and am planning to adapt to a comic/webtoon. Testing out possible simple coloring styles for when I actually begin paneling.
(2B pencil on a 141mm x 103mm postcard) An image I used on Christmas cards that I sent out to people in 2015 that also included a short story to go along with it about the ruthless nature of bargain shopping.
A surprise scribble done on a whim, and I did not expect this myself. The drawing progress felt very smooth and sleek, almost like it felt more natural to draw characters in this style over my "usual" serious mode.
I have been up and down this week with my art. One day I love it and in a few days I start to hate it. Its a roller coaster I'm sick of. But inside myself I hold many universes that I try to explore with my characters. One might hold vampires, while the other might hold mermaids. While others are looking for peace, lost treasures or finding their way home.
Finished the color! I feel I rushed it a little bit, but i'm reasonably happy with the finished product. If I tried to perfect it, I'd never get it done >_<
I've added some new background details, some new peeps and edited the dialogue a lil' bit. I feel very strongly that an immersive world is part of good storytelling, so I try and sneak details in wherever I can, such as the graffiti in the second panel.
I am, in fact, unsatisfied with that graffiti. It's not magical enough. what does magical graffiti look like, I wonder? Do you guys have any ideas?
Trying to do some designs of my own characters and practice some point of view, lightning and shadow, human body parts, etc. A color version coming tomorrow.
