Like a moldy bridge, the Internet has trolls lurking underneath. Reddit: Unpopular Opinions is a particularly fetid spot for these mouth-breathers. It’s simmering with people ready to spew their most bigoted thoughts in the name of edginess/independence from the norm. I love how these nesting dolls came out. I'm also into the Dakota Fanning inspired piece on the left. Dakota's character in The Alienist is a lot of fun. I'm glad she seems to have come out of child acting fairly unscathed. We don't hear a lot of stories of her gallavanting around LA, thieving & putting substances up her schnoz. That's a pleasant change of pace for a celebrity.
Our local antiques store had a huge treasure trove of vintage Native American themed toys and gifts this weekend. I realized that 1) I'd owned a lot of them and 2) none of my friends had. It never occurred to me that my collection was particularly large or unique. Doesn't every kid have a fixation on this country's indigenous population? Apparently not. I love the visual language of the Navajo and Hopi especially. My Kachina doll collection was the bomb.
This was a practice sketch to try out a sketchbook I bought from the dollar store. The paper is surprisingly of excellent quality and she came out looking great!

We have been living in a hotel since 9/2/2016 and all my art stuff is in storage. I got some pencils and this sketch book from the dollar store. I thought my art days were over. Maybe they are. Enjoy.
