My Childhood Plush Collection
1/5

I'm working on a series of childhood stuffed animals versus child monsters (i.e. the safety of home vs the real world and its bullies). I haven't done the monsters yet, but here are the stuffed animals. I drew them from memory as opposed to referencing what Cheer Bear and Rainbow Brite's dog looked like. I looked after. I didn't get them quite right. That's OK; I think the wonkiness adds to the charm. These are drawn in reverse for a woodcut effect, then scanned and printed and gone over with gouache and watercolor.

Some floral doodles and color test

For some reason I tried some floral drawings, of different shapes, and I also used mixtures of different colors to produce hues of green. The first page - it’s a mix of the cobalt blue (PB 28) and cadmium yellow medium (PY 35). On the second one there is ultramarine (PB 29) for the blue color and the same yellow paint. To me, it seems the difference is very little but I’ve got the color closest to the ‘normal’ green using Cobalt rather than ultramarines. The latter gave either to yellowish to olive hues or too blueysh

English: Appropriationism or Remake is a simple concept. Indeed, it is enough to take again the work of an artist and to sign the new production of his name. It is not a question of copying the work as a forger could do. It is not a question of plagiarizing the work. As far as I'm concerned, I use the famous work of a recognized artist. By reusing a pre-existing and famous original work, condition sine qua non, I propose to pay tribute. It is by no means a lack of inspiration especially when we now know that: "art is born of art and not of nature": Ernst Gombrich. In this series, I wanted to revisit famous works using my graphic technique of praising the approximation highlighting the problem of failure and vaporous memory. https://www.pierretomyleboucher.fr

Yonn Goldheart Afflora

Coloring practice! Looked up a lot of references for the lighting, and despite not looking like the reference I'd say I've leveled up with colored pencils. I almost never use prismas except for hair, but this time prismas colored the entire lass. This here's Yonn Goldheart Afflora, savior of Galantra, basically she's the braveheart of her country. The dirt on her face speaks of 1000 hunts and the loss of her eye shows the extent of her bravery and sacrifice. I'm thinking her chapter should be explained in a short story, yes? For legends get passed along in story over fire and wine!

Chari - Loosely based on.
1/5

Chari is one of my favorite folks to draw! I have been drawing a lot more while out and about. Using the cheap graph composition notebook, non-expensive art supplies and going to a coffee shop to draw people. Sometimes I can get a likeness with my mind, eyes, hands and draftsmanship and other times it is the "many moods of my subject." :-) This is a place (in my book) where I can learn from my perceived fails. ****The images are sideways! I know this. I do not know how to make them portrait orientation. They started out as portrait-scaped orientation and now they are landscape. Well..... Okay then. The figurative landscape. Hahaahhha! Cry. I even tried the visa versa. Nope. They want to be on their sides.

Dont Spray, Let Them Stay!

I've been gone from this site for too long, but it's because I've been making environmental posters! This one is to raise awareness against weedkillers. Glyphosate, the active ingredient in Round-Up and many others, is now considered a probable cancer-causing agent, so let's not use it! There's an equally effective recipe at the bottom of the poster.

Urszyg

Urszyg [oorshig] – a daimon watching over garden cabins, summer houses, dachas, etc. He’s very fond of DIY projects, grilled dishes (although he wouldn’t say: „No“ to a good cat food). Unfortunately, he also likes strong beverages (particularly if they have a cherry flavor). For this reason, not all of his repairs and DIY projects can be considered successful. Generally, however, he is a good soul and I can‘t say anything bad about him.

Day of Holiday in the World of Fantasy, abstract art with a short story, naive outsider artwork

The freshness of morning withdrew in front of the warm rays of the sun. The Wizard of Cirilo Bum and I came to the High Meadow, one beautiful gazebo, where we planned to spend a day off. - Only those who work hard and get their work done, fully enjoy all the pleasure of a vacation - said the wizard Čirilo Bum. I did not answer him, my life plan was to work as little in life, for that reason, I have taught for the wizard at him. By the time we took the time to see the water that emerged from the earth, in the air she created a form of grapes and spirals of various colors that had disappeared in the unknown. The Ghosts of water had fun, trying to show each other their skills. We chose a place on the edge of the High Meadow for our accommodation, where we could watch the landscape: meadows and forests scattered to distant mountains of dark blue. Above us were an old, large yew tree as created to keep us from the strong sun and the negative energy. Below the meadow was stretched by which a dozen young dragons rode along and across, skillfully changed the direction of movement and twisted with their long bodies, they played hunting. Hidden in the crown of a large oak tree near us, pointed snake watched their game with their big green eyes, but I noticed that she quickly dropped into sleep. Then I remember that I did not do some important jobs yesterday, Čirilo Bum will definitely see it when we get home. It spoils my mood a bit, and I pulled out of the baskets a few of the dried sausages that the old wizard worked so well. Full stomach I always better mood. - There are rare opportunities to see the Big Redbeak - suddenly spoke Cirilo Bum - bird right now wants to snatch egg. I stared for a while around so Čirilo Bum says: I said Big. And indeed, I find him so big that several other creatures sought accommodation in his body. Cirilo Bum spent almost all day hovering in the crown of the old yew, napping with a satisfied look on his face. Every time I was constantly tortured by the fact that I would have to listen, a critic of the old wizard, when we come home because of my unsolved tasks. My nervousness I softened so that I ate all the food from the basket. Late in the afternoon, we went home, from the trees they began to descend some new, hitherto unseen beings in search for food or night hideout. Spirit of water was gone, but a good part of the way, perhaps from curiosity, we were followed by other inhabitants of the World of Fantasy, were to me welcome companions, I took my thoughts with them, to the house. Hybrid Mythologies, sketchbook explorations

I have had an ongoing project called Hybrid Mythologies. Inspired by stories and mythological creatures, tales from different traditions and parts of the world, I have been playing with emergent stories, characters and creatures that incorporate different elements. It is really a kind of spontaneous, intuitive journey and play of associations - oftentimes surprising to myself in what emerges. This year I am planning to publish an artbook entitled Hybrid Mythologies and if it all goes according to plan, it should be done some time in May. I will post process from this book.
