Remake : monochrome d’Yves Klein - IKB

English: Appropriationism or Remake is a simple concept. Indeed, it is enough to take again the work of an artist and to sign the new production of his name. It is not a question of copying the work as a forger could do. It is not a question of plagiarizing the work. As far as I'm concerned, I use the famous work of a recognized artist. By reusing a pre-existing and famous original work, condition sine qua non, I propose to pay tribute. It is by no means a lack of inspiration especially when we now know that: "art is born of art and not of nature": Ernst Gombrich. In this series, I wanted to revisit famous works using my graphic technique of praising the approximation highlighting the problem of failure and vaporous memory.

The door keeper between life and death, a fantastic short story with a proper picture, outsider painting

A3 format, acrylic, mixed technique We sat around the campfire, talked about everything a bit when someone asked: - Can you tell us your thoughts about death? Old Bone is pulled pipe from the backpack, filled it with tobacco and lit. We have been waiting patiently for the response of this unusual being, deep age, and great living experience. - Everyone would like to know the truth about death, whether it is the full end of life or a new beginning, " said Old Bone - It is wiser to ask questions about life, the purpose of life, and keeping the spark. Truly, few are looking for the truth about life. I believe that with only the complete knowledge of life, one can perceive what is happening after death.- - How to explain the messages of the dead through the media, learning religions about reincarnation, heaven, and hell, eternal life, testimonies of survivors of clinical death? - Fraud and delusions, speculation - calmly replied Old Bone - You must know one thing: there are doors between life and death, The Door Keeper will never let the living know what happens after death. The secret of death only he knows - and that's enough. I think life can only survive this way.

Danse Macabre

These figures found must cast some meanings from my subconscious. They simply came and as a whole composition! I uploaded a full description on youtube giving them individual names, mostly ghostly. This piece contains a spooky atmosphere stronger than the others and remains one of my favorites, probably because better works come effortless.

The Last Breath

Sorry, a gloomy one. Have you thought of how the last breath could be depicted? I was not planning on anything. This was my subconscious speaking out of a scene in my life. I found this image hidden in my doodle lines.

A study / re-imagining of John William Waterhouse's Mermaid. I really overworked the paper on this one, and I wish I had chosen a lighter color to line her, but I love how she came out!

Believe ~ #BelieveSurvivors

@siennylovesdrawing 's #handrawn #lettering ~ #Believe ~ specially #doodled for the #SexualAssaultAwarenessMonth (#SAAM) of #April 2019. Believe is a valuable support for the victims/ survivors to be brave & strong to speak up for themselves #Pens : #ArtlineDecorite @artlinemy #Colours : Metalic Green (Yeah!! She loves this closer colour effect to #Teal ~ Yes, the official colour of SAAM) Be a supportive active listener to focusing on a victim's sharing, not thinking ahead on how to respond, not to worry about giving advice, just purely let the victims know that they are being heard #believesurvivors very important, definitely the assault happened was not at all the victim's fault. She believes that every survivor deserves a safe place to receive support & help. "Yes, I believe you, you are not alone, I am here for you & you will get through this for sure" #IAsk #30DaysofSAAM #girlpowercampaign #artlinemy #typography #letteringart #art #instadaily #instaart #insta #artwork #artistic #positivevibes #design #artist #artistsoninstagram #artwork #siennylovesdrawing #healthy

Had fun trying to capture this. Someday I'll figure out how to get the watercolor gradient I want. Meanwhile this was a fun way to practice and I freaking love these Daniel Smith watercolors. I definitely need to get some full tubes of certain colors. (Moonflower, Lunar Violet, Opera Pink, Cerulean Blue, all the Cobalts, i think all the Primateks - I haven't tried them all yet... *Sigh*)

Nettle, a wasp princess

Once upon a time, there lived a princess. Not a vicious, bloodthirsty princess. No, Nettle was a quiet, bookish girl, and that was a problem. As anyone could tell you, a princess was not gentle. A princess was not forgiving. Above all, a princess was never..kind. — Nettle is a character from a story called Wing I've been working on quietly for a long time. You can check out this post on my new artist blog about the process of creating this comic character: https://christinewelmanblog.wordpress.com/2019/03/24/my-process-for-designing-a-comic-character/
