(Gel fineliner on A5 paper) A weird piece of dark art for the second day of the Inktober challenge. I've not bothered with the prompt words, much preferring to go "vanilla" with it.
(Gel Fineliner on A5 paper) One of the age-old responses from dog-owners: “He won't bite you” along with “He's good with children.”
He's a dog, and like all dogs, they're bred from wolves. Given half the chance they'd revert back to their natural pack instinct. The only reason they don't is that they see you as the pack leader who regularly feeds and pampers them.
“Oh, my little darling isn't like that!” I hear you say, as if you're talking about a child. “He gives me kisses by licking my face. It's his way of saying how much he loves me.”
He licks his balls and arsehole with that tongue, so what's he really saying there?
(Gel fineliner on A5 paper) This is a preview drawing before the Inktober2024 challenge starts. Not something I usually take part in, as I don't really need to, but I thought I'd have a bit of fun with it this year.
(2B pencil on a 139mm x 87mm postcard) A spoof of the old comic-book adverts. It was usually the novelty and joke companies which sold nasty little items that nasty little kids could torment others with. They certainly knew their market well!
"Spaced-Out" (0.18 technical pen on 120mm x 35mm card) and "Medusa" (HB pencil on 125mm x 42mm card). Another two simple images drawn on pieces of off-cut card that make great bookmarks.
"BUTTCHEEKS" The top bookmark is the genuine "Skav Art" piece which was done with a 0.18 technical pen on 110mm x 30mm off-cut card. The one below (the "bottom" one - Heheh!) was a deliberate copy I made of the first and, even though it looks neater, proved to me that those dreaded "processes" do start to creep in. The differences are slight, but they are there. Such processes can mount the further you go with them, until they totally erode the creative energy you originally had. So, it was good to do, even if it does mean I've now got two artworks with the same title!
(gel fineliner pen on 115mm x 87mm paper) I did this piece to test out those cheap fineliner pens that you can buy for £1 for 3 from TheWorks stores. They're pretty good for what they are, as you can see. They're 0.38 in line width and the gel ink is quite opaque.
(2B pencil on 120mm x 105mm paper) A Skav Art piece depicting a hellish reality where out of control technology degrades and torments humanity, such as in this Techfernum Sorcerer.
(2B pencil on 132mm x 86mm paper) I did think of writing something in the speech bubble but decided it worked best as a kind of "silent scream" so I left it blank.
(0.18 Technical Pen on 130mm x 35mm card) I did these with a tech pen I was cleaning, deciding to make use of the ink that was diluted within it. The pieces of card were off-cuts, so I was making the best of everything there. They're not too bad for what they are and make decent enough bookmarks.
(HB pencil on 115mm x 80mm paper) A dreamscape (automatic drawing) piece which looks to depict a character dropping off to sleep, surrounded by his own dream construct.
(2B pencil on 110mm x 81mm paper) An odd dreamscape piece which produced the unlikely pair of characters of a wizard and, what looks like, a rocker, with the wizard having trouble deciphering a magic scroll he's been given. The rocker doesn't look too impressed!
(0.5 pen on 160mm x 125mm paper) This was a piece I recently did to mark my entrance into the mad world of NFTs after I created an account on OpenSea and uploaded work on there. (2B pencil on 130mm x 90mm paper) I've never watched Peaky Blinders, but whilst doing some casual sketching, I came up with this orc character and so called it "Freaky Blinder" due to its flat cap and cigarette.
(HB pencil on 190mm x 140mm paper) I'd avoided such social media sites up until now, but decided (reluctantly) to take the plunge after constantly being advised to. (HB pencil on 110mm x 78mm paper) When doing this form of automatic drawing, strange characters and weird objects do take shape, leaving the rest of the image as dream construct.
(HB pencil on 181mm x 87mm paper) Another work I did for the Christmas cards I give to people each year. With this one, it shows a "chickydoll" Christmas elf by the name of Trixie. (Fineliner on 190mm x 120mm paper) This was one of the more larger pieces I did last year (and by large I mean just under A5). It depicts a friendly alien species who, having travelled light years across space, shared the fruits of their knowledge with us, and assimilated into human life as best they could, is still confronted with one of those age-old questions of ignorance.
(2B pencil on 178mm x 114mm paper) An image of a line of shadowy figures, all chained together, going hopelessly and reluctantly in the same direction. Above them is a wisp of some scent or sound that was never meant for them.
(HB pencil on 47mm x 80mm paper) Another of my small Guardian Spirit works, which constantly rip into the idea of guardian angels and spirit guides. An idea just about as ridiculous as alien visitations themselves. Could that be a laser weapon the alien's holding, or a portable anal probe?
