A playful, hand-drawn illustration featuring a happy character wearing a gravity-defying top hat overflowing with a dense garden of flowers. This monochrome piece blends whimsical fantasy with a bold, indie-art aesthetic.
More random drawings I worked on. This is a Great Whale with a whole ecosystem within the illustration. I enjoy these. Artwork by Janelle Dimmett. 2026. www.janelledimmett.com
Another dream I had once, but lately I have been feeling....yuck. Its hard to feel good when you live in a world thats shallow. All the negative thoughts scream at you.
Not a beautiful work of art I know. I hope I paint better. But 70 hours of my life made from materials and techniques utilized by those who crossed our nation in covered wagons. I made this for the Episcopal Church in Prestonsberg. The bishop is retiring and 36 Churches in Eastern Kentucky are all making quilt squares for a quilt for him. The material is doubled so it insulates well.
A striking hand-drawn conceptual illustration featuring a brain wearing a colander like a helmet, titled "Selective Ignorance." This piece explores the conscious choice to filter out the noise of the world to protect one's mental clarity and focus.
I'm considering starting a little comic with this little guy. Prepare to never see it exist. Also, backgrounds are hard and I didn't do all that much but it looks good!
