So I had this idea for a series; fun, whimsical paintings of pet rocks. Full of personality, sweet, make you laugh, that kind of vibe. First one I draw is this. I was so horrified by it I haven't drawn another one since. I'm not kidding; I'm actually quite upset to discover I can't draw "sweet". Or maybe it was a bad day.
Classic story: vampire guy and werewolf guy start a basketball team; a dog joins; a clown comes after him. It's your archetypal Air Bud Situation. If you've heard it once, you've heard it a million times.

This doodle is named for what it's painted on. I had a theory that Cheerio box cardboard would take well to watercolors, and I was right! Watercolor sketch for an acrylic painting I’m about to start. I messed some of the elements up but it’s so nice to have some kind of expectation as to what I want it to look like instead of painting blindly.
This is Lianhua. She is from the Tang Dynasty in the Year 700 Ad. She is wearing a type of hanfu (traditional Chinese dress) called a Qixiong Ruqun. If anyone knows more on Hanfu and Chinese historical fashion, let me know if I I got the the time period right or if the styles are from different time periods.
