Which technique were you exploring? I love how natural his expression is. He looks like he is very comfortable in his job.

Thanks! I have been playing around with mixing colored inks with black ink, spraying with water and letting them "bleed". Once dry, layering watercolor and gouache on top. I'm interested in quick, immediate linework, at least at the moment :) By the way, I visited your website and really enjoy your paintings! @zom18

I like the effect. Is it acrylic or watercolour ink? And thank you, I am so glad you liked my paintings.

@zom18 I draw with fountain pens and I use Noodler's Ink fountain pen ink brand. I mix a waterproof black with a red that isn't. After I draw the image and it dries, I hit it with some water. The red bleeds out of the black. It has a bit of a softening effect on the line.

Thanks for that @davidterrillkc So interesting. I use the De Atramentis ink with fountain pen. I like the Noodler, but it dried too slowly in my moleskine and I was always smudging.
