@zom18 Thank you for your kind words. For the most part this illustration was done with watercolours but I did sharpen things up with a waterproof black fine-liner. One way to get things looking expressive and loose is to cheat by doing a light drawing in graphite or a light blue pencil. For me I find this technique helps me feel more confident with throwing black lines around and I have the lighter drawing below as a guide. It's kind of like sculpting things out.

The Woman Puppet from Rome. A clay or plaster of paris puppet head that was glossy and smooth. This painting of the woman pupped is regal and dignified. It shows little animation or dramatic expression. It is unlike most of the others, say for its counterpart
