Shane Gooseman (2020 vs 2025)

Re-doodling after five years! Five years after joining Doodle Addicts, I decided to redraw my 47th upload and share it as my 431st upload to see how much I've progressed.

@Cameron It's some kind of fan art of Shane Gooseman, a character from Galaxy Rangers, an animated space western TV series from the late '80s. I'm bad at drawing faces, and five years ago, I also struggled with poses. So I came up with a solution: designing characters in the style of pawn-like board game pieces. The simplified design features a spherical head, a bullet-shaped body, no neck, no legs, and spherical hands. Over time, I upgraded the design slightly according to my improving skills. However, five years later, faces are still beyond my skill level—especially if I want to get close to the original character. If I leave out the face, I can imagine what I want, and it works for me.

i get that, but you know, there are many great Youtube videos by artists showing how to draw faces, even simplified ones. you can clearly draw, so a bit of time spent on faces would take you to the next level, and give you even more enjoyment. give it a try. nothing to lose, right? :)
