Dawn M. Mecozzi Hello, my name is Dawn M. Mecozzi,
and I'm a doodle addict.
Wisconsin

I have doodled all of my life. I grew up in the 60s so no electronics to speak of and on top of that I was the only child. I almost think its an obsession. I actually feel happy if I see a blank sheet of paper or canvas. There are so many possibilities each time you start to draw you never know what you will get, or where it will lead to.

Way Hightops!

Morning sketch. So I was waiting for a go ahead on a 20 illo project. One of the illustrations in the project is a pair of “Chucks” so in the meantime I did a much crazier than they will be wanting version. Sometimes you just have to please yourself without all the boundaries.

Saved By The Doodle

This piece began as a multi-colored abstract . . . but it was nowhere . . . nothing . . . and had no essence. So, I tried to take it in the direction of a landscape . . . and that was horrible. I gave the entire piece a whitewash using a white acrylic paint pen. And then the idea popped into my head to Doodle over the colored background. The title reflects the fact that the piece only came to life with the addition of the Doodles . . .

Daily Painting Challenge 3 - scallop

Following the daily painting challenge with Lisa Congdon over at CreativeBug though I haven't quite managed to keep up daily. Still, it's wonderful picking the brush up again and splashing around with paint!

Passing the Great Exhibition

This is part of an ongoing series. This time we pass through The Great Exhibition and meet the different characters there to view art or just to socialise and hang out.

Another Part of the Toasted City
1/4

This is part of a broader idea for a big busy city teeming with different characters. Some of those characters will travel deeper through this city and through different lands. Eventually they get back to where they started from.
