I've combined Inktober and Drawlloween to create a bunch of big ink-wash paintings of horror themes. I'm really excited about these!!! I can't wait to have 31!

I painted HP Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe in order to spook up Halloween. I'll probably do Stephen King, too, at some point, and maybe Shirley Jackson. Anyone have any other favorite horror novelists?

I'm trying a new subtractive technique to get black tones in my drawing, then watercoloring over top. It's sort of a printmaking approach. Sort of.

Final drawing. Progression 5 of 5. This piece had its share of challenges, but I’m happy with how it came out.
