I call what I do "skav art" which is firmly rooted in its doodling origins. It's really a form of finished thumbnail sketching, drawn on anything below the size of A5 using just one single medium like a pen or a pencil. It does away with any further artistic processes, concentrating more on that initial raw idea.

Forget the fact that she was naked, or that she was sat next to an invisible man and that there was a monster trying to grope her. The dragon-headed man was smoking in a no smoking area. (2B pencil on a 198mm x 124mm book title page) Profanity is a common form of blasphemy. Here, I've used it in a similar way as you'd see fonts used in the old Letraset catalogues. Plus, nobody says "fadge" anymore, and that used to be a good swear-word.

I was going to call this one "bloodlines" due to the shaded central areas which developed, but the lettering in the bottom-left corner began to take shape and so I highlighted them and used them as the title.

(2B pencil on a 139mm x 89mm postcard) Another Dreamscape drawing that uses random shading to build up imagery in a surrealist automatism technique.

(Blue biro on 125mm x 75mm notecard) A third in the guardian spirit works that I've done. When it comes to these kind of things, who wouldn't prefer a pistol-packing angel like that?

(B grade pencil on 125mm x 75mm notecard) Another dreamscape image. With this one, I decided to pick out points of detail whilst having the rest shaded in the background. It works well, even with minimum elements highlighted.
