I call what I do "skav art" which is firmly rooted in its doodling origins. It's really a form of finished thumbnail sketching, drawn on anything below the size of A5 using just one single medium like a pen or a pencil. It does away with any further artistic processes, concentrating more on that initial raw idea.

I specialize in art, artist, biro, creative, drawing, pen and ink, pencil, skav art.

SEX, VIOLENCE, AND SCENES OF A DISTRESSING NATURE

(Gel Fineliner on A5 Paper) The type of artwork which makes you look twice at it due to the title. If it was a photo or a sculpture, I'd probably use a readymade, but here it was something I could easily draw from memory with it being so basic and familiar to everyone.

(2B pencil on 178mm x 114mm paper) An image of a line of shadowy figures, all chained together, going hopelessly and reluctantly in the same direction. Above them is a wisp of some scent or sound that was never meant for them.

(HB pencil on 103mm x 73mm paper) A dreamscape (automatic drawing) piece which resulted in this serene-looking character.

(HB pencil on 74mm x 106mm paper) A dreamscape (automatic drawing) image. A weird one showing a somewhat annoyed elf hiding amongst the trees and shrubs. The face itself was one of the first things to take form and I liked the way the dream construct became the texture of the tree branches.

(Gel Fineliner on A5 Paper) A "Twart" is someone who tries far too hard to be an artist. Each carries the metaphorical book: "The ABC Book on How To Be An Artist" Ticking off various points they think will make them such. You can usually tell who they are by the cheesy, inoffensive work they produce and a false, bohemian, facade. Because they think that's what artist are like.

(2B pencil on 120mm x 105mm paper) A Skav Art piece depicting a hellish reality where out of control technology degrades and torments humanity, such as in this Techfernum Sorcerer.

(2B pencil on a 139mm x 87mm postcard) A spoof of the old comic-book adverts. It was usually the novelty and joke companies which sold nasty little items that nasty little kids could torment others with. They certainly knew their market well!

(HB pencil on 50mm x 80mm paper) A simple, yet strange, little character for these Guardian Spirit cards I've done.

(2B pencil on 80mm x 48mm paper) Another of my Guardian Spirit pieces drawn on a much smaller format so that I can hand them out to people I meet as calling cards.

(Gel Fineliner on A5 Paper) One of the most horrific situations you could ever be in. You're going through the motions and you turn to see that there's no toilet paper left! With no-one to help you, you know you're going to have to make that terrible choice.....Your socks or your underwear!

(HB pencil on a 125mm x 79mm till reciept) Drawn on the back of a till receipt, which is as good a medium as any :)

(H pencil on a 139mm x 87mm postcard) A dreamscape image (automatism) which seems to show a woman with folded arms, stood by a wall. The figure was the main thing which became prominent at the Rorschaching stage of the work, and apart from the faint hint of a wall, the rest was dream construct.

(HB pencil on 130mm x 120mm paper) With pandemic lockdowns happening all the time, it's created something of a Victorian feel to Christmas, so it was no surprise that I drew this for the Christmas cards I do at this time of year, along with a very odd version of a round-robin message attached to it. (HB pencil on 181mm x 87mm paper) Another work I did for the Christmas cards I give to people each year. With this one, it shows a "chickydoll" Christmas elf by the name of Trixie. SODOMY, DRUG USE, AND LANGUAGE WHICH MAY OFFEND

(Gel Fineliner on A5 Paper) The juxtaposed title seems to somehow work well with this one!

(Gel Fineliner on A5 Paper) It is finished, even if it doesn't look like it. It reflects those old peanut display cards of the 1970s and 80s which were like a peanut strip-tease as the snacks were bought and more of the image was revealed. It's also a comment on the endless WIPs that some upload on social media which are like a form of "peanuts" in themselves.

(Gel Fineliner on A5 Paper) A simple image to show that sacred cows, of all kinds, should not be immune in the eyes of any artist.

(HB pencil on 120mm x 100mm paper) A dreamscape piece (automatic drawing) which seems to have an almost planetary feel to it with the glowing orb and the line of spheres which developed.

(Gel Fineliner on A5 Paper) A sad little addiction that many people have. Just take it one day at at a time :P
