My name is Nancy Lemon, and I am a Charleston, SC based illustrator. I write and illustrate books for children, mostly, but also like creating designs for home goods and apparel. I would describe my work as whimsical narrative.
I specialize in childrens illustration, digital art, illustration, mixed media.
All went on the Street
From the digital sketchbook...a fun watercolory and penciled crowd. They’re scrunched together but are all pretty calm.
May all your holiday parties have ugly sweaters in attendance.
Painting, drawing, crayoning, markering (I just made that word up)...it's always more fun when a child is involved, even when they purposefully color over a character. It adds character to the character, no?
Little fox dude adoring the crescent moon
Drawn in my official "doodle addict" sketchbook, this is a "serious horse face". Colored pencil and black ink pen
I look at way too many carefully decorated spaces on Pinterest, so I painted one of them and then opened up the room to nature. Also a way to experiment with "gouache painting" in Adobe Fresco.
I have started keeping a digital sketchbook. This is the first page.
I decided to participate in Folktale Week this year, as it was the first I’d heard of it. This is the submission for the prompt “Home”.
Now that I am stuck at home and practicing social distancing, I finally drew on the postcard I've held onto since joining Doodlers' Anonymous A WHILE ago. :)
A happy horse dances across a tiled floor. Gouache in the iPad Pro. Prints of this are available in my store.
This is just a little WPA from my sketchbook.
It all started with a simple doodle, as it so often does. Now I think I’m going to make stickers and/or a shirt.
This was a quick little painting/drawing in my sketchbook I did after seeing a friend’s photo on Instagram.
I made a sketchbook and it needed a cover.
Just a quick scribble at the library.
