It has been a delight to share with my students the incredible resource of people. Over the years, I’ve had the great privilege of connecting them with inspiring individuals such as Lois Ehlert, Dave Nice, Gregory Martens, Colette Odya Smith, and—as seen in this “Behind the Professor” sketch—Dr. Gaylund Stone. There’s something powerful about the presence of someone who lives their craft with humility and depth. In moments like these, my students are reminded that more is often caught than taught.
#24 Anime girl doodles - I think I drew this sometime last year 2025 - I just never bothered to upload it. Most of it was sketched on Magma.com and part of the inking process was finished in Ibis Paint, with only minor adjustments in photoshop. I do all my digital inking on an iPad pro, and I use those hollow aluminum capacitive styluses that you can get very cheap just about anywhere. I prefer them over the apple pencil because the apple pencil is too slippery and heavy. More uploads coming soon...

The crisp air feels so good, and I love the rustle of the dead leaves and grasses on a windy day. While sometimes I get sad to see the branches bare, I also love looking at and analyzing their structure. I find it fascinating that a tree can go from this mighty, fluttering thing to a spindly, knobby structure and remain fundamentally unchanged. It's a bit of a miracle
