It's 2019 and I am thankful for family, turkey dinner, and Rebelle 3! This Thanksgiving holiday I'm teaching my boys how to draw in Rebelle. It's official. I've gone to the dark side and fallen in love with acrylic gouache - specifically the Liquitex one. I usually don't have a plan when I put my pen to the paper. A lot of the time, I just draw what comes to me and sometimes it starts to form into other "bigger" shapes/objects like this one.
Not a terribly good piece, but I had fun drawing it. It is a take on the Spirit of '76, originally painted by Archibald Willard. I did it upon request, but I did not charge anything. I think it would have been better in color.
I also like using just black ink. Lately, I've been using this Platinum Preppy extra fine for my doodling. I like how different kinds of pens and tools can sometimes give different art.

When your own son calls you anonymous, you probably don’t exist. He likes to be funny on greeting cards. Hahaa! Usually my doodles are a one to two day thing. I continued adding to this one over a period of a couple weeks. Life has been a blur lately. It feels good to be able to post something again.
