Scanned from one of last years sketchbooks. Micron pens for basic sketch, added shadows with Koi watercolor pen, and used acrylic paint for the green background.

This is from one of my older sketchbooks. I used salt on the red watercolor paint while it was still wet to get the textured background effect.

This is my illustration of the Mad Hatter, based on the Tim Burton interpretation; it was created for a recent blog post. Everything was drawn by hand on white cardstock, using illustration pens, except for the background (which was created by scanning a specific craft paper pattern). This one was fun. I was using drawing ink on palette paper to paint this one. Then I dropped my palette paper ON my drawing. Instead of deciding I messed it up, I used the palette paper to 'finish' the background. :)

This is my first image I'm going to post on here. It is nothing like most of the other art on here, but I hope that's fine. I was on vacation and just decided to do something with a black background.

The background is made out of an old notebook I cut up and glued with modpodge. My obsession with hands continues.

Simple shapes but I was happy with the composition. I also love the brown color of the cardboard as a background.
