This was an exercise in taking a photo that was quite dark and foreboding and turning it into a happy looking illustration. I'm slowly getting my head around how to make my work look like illustration instead of "fine art". This is watercolour and colour pencil.
The hair needs some work before I can say that this is finished. It's the only part that I'm not happy with.
Edit: I fixed the hair but made the face worse, and ended up ruining the painting. So. There you go.
Wake up your creativity!
Take a piece of paper, something to write on, and draw a few lines/circles/squiggles. Then more and more, and so on...
Let your imagination run wild.
