It turns out that Goldie, the porcine pal of Walter Ego the Artist, is actually a very funny porker, literally a stand-up comedipig! He regularly regales Walter and his recently discovered twin brother, Count R. Ego with swine humor!

Drawing is my best friend ever. He helped me so much and still today he helps me to stay calm. He has always been there for me, good and bad. Drawing for life and never, I'll stop drawing rather die.
Scans of my old school gel pen on construction paper early loops works. The green and blue are straight up scans. The others are playing around with mirroring and adding effects in Photoshop to scans of drawn works.
This is the book I made which contains the educational paper I wrote and illustrated about my trip to China in the summer of 2017. I gave a lecture entitled, The Sketchbook: Let's Connect at ICON10, The Illustration Conference in Detroit, MI this past July. These patterns are all made from drawings pulled from my 2017 sketchbook project. I studied fiber arts in grad school and learned how to do repeat patterns - the old fashioned way by cutting and taping paper together... I haven't done any in 25 years - until this month!

I was fortunate enough to to take my sketchbook class to observe medical students dissect donor cadavers. These donors gave there bodies to science to further our knowledge of the human anatomy and to train our future doctors. We worked alongside the med students and anatomy fellows. It was a humbling and fascinating experience.
