love the go with the flow doodle mentality. I call it "Randomness". It's a great practice to help you start and gives a great feeling of complete freedom, and that's what doodlin' for me mostly is about. I sometimes use this randomness to create peace of mind, new ideas, creative flow, clearity, vision, dreams or great art! :)
Two wicker chairs in the sun.
One for the waiting,
one for the hoped-for.
The table between them
holds its silence,
its place set for bread or talk.
I draw what is here—
lines quick and unerasable—
and what is not here,
her presence,
waits with me in the white of the page.
This portrait of Mr. Joshua Anderson—our resident Shakespeare whisperer—was drawn by student artist Covey Garrett as part of a school-wide tribute to our teachers. Students photographed, gridded, and drew 18x24” posters of their teachers, each paired with a favorite catchphrase. Mr. Anderson’s? A classic:
“Hint, hint. Wink, wink. Nudge, nudge.”
We think the Bard would approve.
"All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely teachers..."
(okay, we may have paraphrased a bit).
Drawn with a Sailor/Wancher Turquoise 1911L. The M nib on this pen comes to a sharp point which allows for some line variation not from flex but based on how deep the firm nib digs into the watercolor paper. The Noodlers Black ink is a little dry and that contributes to this effect.
#23 Dizzie the Cat, my OG sonic fan-character - I Haven’t drawn anything in a long time because I feel like Ai has devalued artists and my stuff was never popular anyways. I don’t know what possessed me to draw this last night. But remember back in the day when people drew their own Sonic fan characters on deviant art? Well, I finally gave in and created my own.
A beautiful hand drawn illustration of a vibrant Christmas tree decorated with an assortment of colorful ornaments, lights, and a big bright star on top.
Continuing my insect series. This yellow jacket was drawn with Micron pens and water-based markers. I used graphite for the shadow and a Gelly Roll pen for highlights.
A cute avocado character dressed as an Aztec warrior, complete with a vibrant headdress, spear, and shield. The character's large eyes and round cheeks add a playful touch to its warrior attire. text that reads: "ahuacatl" (aztec for avocado)
"Spaced-Out" (0.18 technical pen on 120mm x 35mm card) and "Medusa" (HB pencil on 125mm x 42mm card). Another two simple images drawn on pieces of off-cut card that make great bookmarks.
One of my favorite films as a kid! I... actually have an animation cel from it haha. Quick drawing from way back. Drawn and inked traditionally, colored digitally.
#03 Legend of Zelda characters in my style - Drawn on magma.com using an ipad pro and a cheap capacitive rubber tip stylus. The picture was drawn live for the theme: "The Legend of Zelda"
