And Finally it's Saint Matthew giving a high-five to his Symbolic Angel (Or "human with wings" technically)! I Made it more like a fairy or something, it's not like a mount like the other symbols of the evangelists. So Matthew looks a little more Fatherly because in the Gospel of Matthew the theme of God the Father is the strongest of the gospels (mentioned more times etc.), also it's the only account that gives the account of the Annunciation to St. Joseph and lots of details on St. Joseph, the virginal Father of Jesus on Earth. (I should probably redo St. John since I did the others with more detail, I actually I did that version of St. John a few years ago but I finally decided to color and outline it recently. All the others are new though.) Let me know if you want to see anything! I'll probably do the mysteries of the Rosary next. ^_^
Big-eared Brown Bat (Histiotus macrotus). Hybrid technique (digital enhanced watercolor). This species has large dark ears. The dorsal hairs are strongly bicolored, with black or dark brown bases and yellow tips. Some authors consider that H. macrotus is distributed only in Chile and Argentina. Binturong, a fluffy animal with even fluffier ears. Really mysterious if you ask me. I made a small comic of this, you can see more on Instagram.
On a more serious note, binturongs are fascinating and also a vulnerable species, with a decreasing population (acording to the IUCN redlist).

One of my favorite pieces I did for Inktober a couple of years ago. The prompt was juicy. I went with an NBC Hannibal aesthetic. You would not believe how much fun I had coloring those pomegranates.
This was my first sumi ink artwork I made for my introduction to art class a few years ago. I used a bamboo reed pen to make this design. It depicts a puppet cutting the strings and liberating herself! I hope you like my artwork!
It's a Raccoon Dog! Did you know these exist? In Japan they call them Tanuki. I've always liked raccoons so I really enjoyed finding out about the Raccoon Dogs years ago (Even though they actually aren't related to Raccoons). It would be so cool to have one. ^_^ Thank you Lord for all the Raccoon Dogs! :P
Omens : Crocodile.
The Indians believe that crocodiles make a moaning and sighing noise like a human being in distress to attract their victims. They also have a curious superstition that the creatures shed their famous "tears" over a victim's head after they have devoured the body - and then polish off the head to complete the meal!

As a child of the 70s, I have very fond memories of sitting on the floor in front of our little colour TV, and watching and adoring Lynda Carter bounce around, kicking ass and fighting crime. I’ve always loved Wonder Woman, and I'm fascinated by the myriad ways she’s been imagined and re-imagined over the years.
For mine I focused on her dualism – the goddess beauty vs warrior strength, combined with the colour and curves of my childhood. In terms of the art, I thought it would be fun to allude to classicism for the subjects association with Greek mythology and form, and balletic contrapposto as a homage to Lynda's classic spin.

Superstition : Cigarettes.
The superstition that it is bad luck to light three cigarettes from one match appears to have originated during the Boer War. It was said that a sniper could spot where men might be as the first cigarette was being lit, take aim as the second was ignited and fire with deadly effect at the third. Two lights were enough for any group of men who valued their lives.

Maia, one of two current German Shepherds was born here at our house ten years ago. She is a grand old lady with a big ears, a big ruff and a sweet personality. This drawing was done from a photo reference AND her sleeping at my feet. I used Pigma Micron Pens in black and brown with a little graphite smudging to add a bit of shadow.

Among the backwoodsmen of America there was a superstition that bears breed only once every seven years, and when they did this caused such a disturbance in the atmosphere that any cattle in the district which were about to calve would lose their young.

An old attempt at spray paint that didn't go so well. After a few years about being forgotten, I was able to see it from a new perspective and I just let my hand use the inspired energy to create "Starburst".
Remember to credit me when you make this and ASK if you can! If you don't ask me your work will be taken down (This is just temporary to see where the species is going) And yes, there back is covered in scales (I will have to work on a ref) There ears are always flopped, never pointed. NO SPECIES INSPIRATION! NO MIXING WITH MY SPECIES! This is my first species so I want to monitor it. This is an f2u species not p2u so just ask me. It’s been over 20 years since I was an artist and animator in the video game industry and did art on the computer. I’ve been re-learning digital art since I’ve been stuck in doors during this Covid pandemic, and this is a charcoal piece I just did in Procreate. Our rooster was killed by a weasel while defending his hens a few years ago, so this fellow was referenced from various on-line photos. He's drawn with colored pencils on Strathmore 400 Smooth Bristol board paper.
