Mighty satellites crashed to Earth. Oceans swallowed up the lands. The World became new . Planet Earth became Illoniri . The people who were not crushed, tried their best to survive, and they did . But what was that like? Living in a world where everything has been taken from you ? Everything but your own life ? No communication, except with the people right next to you. Your own friends and family mutating and changing before your very eyes. Imagine ... gaining magical powers, riding strange and fantastic beasts, forging your own destiny from the ruins of the old world. Exploring the world you thought you knew. A beautiful and pure and young world, born of the ashes of the old one . What will we do to protect this new Earth? What lengths will we go to ? How can we keep our Mother Illoniri safe from evil ? I will fight . We all must fight. We cannot chance our world to be destroyed a second time. But maybe... maybe we don't have to fight? Maybe the reason Earth died and became Illoniri is because all we ever do is fight ? Is the answer so simple? Have humility and understanding, and we may all live? Keeping peace is easier said than done . Maybe we all just need to be kind and our Illoniri will be saved? Only time will tell... Until there is peace, we venture onward. Quick 1 hour sketch working with a limited palette for a moody, gritty atmosphere. I always like to think of the story behind a piece before I start, and this one was a reflection of where I see the world going - a dystopian world in which many parts of the city have been abandoned, taken over by urban foliage, and left to ruin as people flee.
This sketchbook is all about triangle patterns! Each page starts with a base layer of connecting triangles. From there, I fill in different patterns on each page, challenging myself to come up with new ideas for each page.
Drawn in about 30 min for my Grandfather w/ Parkinson's Disease. He absolutely loves these majestic cats. What better than to have a resting one sitting next to you while resting yourself.
This is a drawing of the ocean. It shows all the different zones of the ocean. It also shows animals that live in those zones. At the top is the sunlight zone. Next is the twilight zone. After that is the midnight zone. The last is the abyssal zone.

It was fun to turn Hellboy into a drawing like this. Even though this is the same style I've used for other SD drawings I've done previously, I tried to add as much Mike Mignola style as I could. It was an interesting challenge.
I think there needed to be something extra to go along with it, so I added a background slice full of monsters, skeletons, and other scary stuff. Some of it was inspired by various drawings from Hellboy comic covers, and some of it I make up. Please take a moment to take a closer look. I was a lot of fun to work on that, and I think I will try to incorporate more of that style into my work in the future.
