The inevitable Labubu fan art has arrived!
I mean, I see so many of them here in Edinburgh and my folks (knowing full well my plushie habit) just so happened to pick one up for me as a gift en route back from their Cyprus trip. Can’t complain obviously, he’s a very good boy! :-)
Figured I’d try my hand at something fan art flavoured for this one… namely in the form of my favourite tiny fictional character, Kirby!
I can’t ascertain when exactly I became a fan of the Kirby franchise, although playing Super Smash Bros as a young boy may have something to do with that.
Whatever the case, I got hooked on the pink (or blue in some cases) puffball very quickly!
Wanted a fantasy comp but with a unique color palette and a modern subject. I also wanted the foreground to appear as a very distinct layer hoping the landscape appears downhill to the viewer. I used Barad-dûr as inspiration for the castle ruins.

Can’t say I’m a huge Britney fan but I don’t dislike her though. Millennials like myself couldn’t escape her no matter how much we switched the music TV channels over as kids hahahaha! If I ever encounter anyone who doesn’t know who she is, I’ll tell them she was the Tate McRae of the late 90s/early 2000s…
