This painting/ drawing is started in the Abstract with forms created organically. I used Acrylics and applied them liberally as you might use in watercolor techniques. I love challenging myself to create in this form, as I do in finding the figures which may form themselves in the process. I then detail the figures in a drawing style to enhance and bring it forward. I took my drawings out into the wild for some glamour shots. I got busted crawling through a flower garden doing so, but the woman was fine with it. I gave her this bunny.
This sketchbook spread comes with a free tea review. (I'm also a Sororitea Sister. That's a real thing. Feel free to look it up.) My favorite feature is Edgar Allan Poe in the lower right, though.
Over the course of a few months, I got to work with Good Karma For All on what you might consider a "passion project". The job consisted of freehand painting murals on every single (large) wall and hand-lettering inspirational quotes all over the inside and outside of the building.
The third book in the "Little People, Big Dreams" series is about Frida Kahlo. I have to say, I had the most fun illustrating with this book cover. Beautiful color pop and written by the fabulous @mariaisabelsanchezvegara
