I'm working on a mini series in which I'm drawing some of my favorite Pokemon,Sceptile is my favorite Grass Type Pokemon, plus this drawing gave me an excuse to use several different green watercolors that I own. Inktense blocks. This is one of a whole series of portraits I've done of people's selfies with a galaxy background. My goal with the series is to show just how beautiful and powerful and Universal selfies are. Selfies are a valuable tool in self-love and self-acceptance. We take photos of all the things we love, but so often leave ourselves out. We all struggle to accept our own skins, and often give up, but as Carl Sagan said, "We are made of starstuff," and we are all worth photographing.

Here's a portrait of Yuko Shimizu that I'm working on for an IlloStories project (check the group out on Facebook). I took her pose from one of her photographs, then used colours, patterns and textures that were inspired by her artworks. This could be a front page for a book about her, or maybe a page for when her story reaches this point!

Figured I upload my most recent drawing as my first image!

Worked from photograph taken at the vineyard. Clio is a highly sought after moderately expensive Spanish red. 8.5x11 card stock, technical pen

Final drawing 6 of 6. Here I fine tuned the piece. Spent some time on the shirt and wrinkles. Added little details like moles and neck creases. Finished up areas of shading. I had a heck of a time on his right eye. It’s the one area I couldn’t get quite to my liking but it is what it is. Overall, I like how this came out.

WIP of the latest Pokémon trainer girl & Scorbunny. I liked how it looks at this stage so I decided to post it before I finish coloring/shading.

Progression 5 of 6. At this point his face is nearly done and I’ve begun to fill in the shirt. There is still more shading and fine tuning and details needed on to finish off his face, but at this point in a drawing I like to begin filling in the other details to keep some cohesion to the overall piece.
