I've been thinking about visual tension recently and making things more interesting with contrast and depth. I am learning!

I'm usually bad at portraits or drawing faces in general so I decided to practice a bit more and this was the result of my first serious attempt at a portrait drawing using graphite pencils and black fineliners

from the Presence illustrated series.

Fine point felt pen and marker on graph paper.

Just something random I decided to do giving myself a break from the regular studies. I like the way the background came out as it gives off kind of a weird static or "noise" like from old movie reels lol

In his seventies, this guy was a great model. Fun to draw. Lots of character.

This is another Stephen Gammell inspired drawing. Done with graphite, charcoal, kneeded eraser and whiteout. It ain't perfect but we gettin there!
