In the style of Lucien Freud, this little painting didn't take long, but was fun and an accurate representation of the model. Plus size models are often just as interesting as many of the thinner models we got in drawing sessions. Beauty exists for different people in different ways. Character is certainly a big aspect.
I forgot that this prompt was for last week, but I figured I'd upload this anyway. It's definitely a simple drawing; I think it turned out pretty okay. I rarely use markers and I don't usually draw mythical creatures/aliens, so this was pretty interesting to do.
Magnolias are spring harbingers in our garden, as well as our annual ornamental cherry display. Star magnolias are over, tulip magnolias are in full swing, and the occasional Southern magnolia is starting. Perhaps I should have done this with a gouache paint, but I used colored pencils. Oh well. Outlined after with various sizes of Pigma Micron pens.

Ending this month saying I believe in #januhairy. I think we should do what we want with our bodies, they’re the only one we’ve got and it’s our body, no one else's. Me, I must admit I have foolish reasons to keep all hair in my body; it’s too damn cold! Yap. That’s it.
