Yesterday, I was drawing during the Metropolitan Opera's daily streaming. My husband, Mike came by and looked dumbfounded. "Samson and Delilah inspired THIS subject matter?" Walked off shaking his head. We have a good laugh!
My drawings today from my sketchbook class, we were drawing cadavers. These are from the head and neck dissections of the donors. This is one of my favorite locations I take my students. It is humbling.
Sometimes I like to draw things in the reverse (filling in the light areas, leaving the dark areas bare) and then flip them to see how I did. Today's warmups turned out pretty well. My favorite is the kid on the top, whose head & hair echo the strawberry shape. I wish I'd distinguished the girl's legs from the dog's body on the left more, but overall, not bad.
"Flying in the sky with a lady in its arms,
The Platform's heading fast out to the farm.
She was harmed unknowingly and now she will become a seed,
From which the platforms now will feed until they breed." -- Drawn with fountain pens, colored with my iPad using Procreate.
mike_sheehan_studio My sketch spot was better than your sketch spot last night. #virtuososofyakutia #lakearrowheadresort #violin #sketchbook #sketching #cafesketching #urbansketchers #urbansketching #ucr #fullertoncollegeartdepartment #lakearrowheadrotary
This was done on a heavy day. On days like this, I like to doodle whatever is inside my head to lighten things up. My therapy. Almost everything in here means something.
What happens when Jimmy is reading Ezekiel in the morning then discovering @themarcuskingband and @billystrings and doodling on the same day? There is no logical reason to throw all this randomness together in one drawing. This stream of consciousness improv drawing can get weird at times. All I can say is if you were in my head 24/7 it would all make perfect sense. I have become comfortably weird.
Overview:
The title of this piece is directly inspired by the lyrics of the song "Rabbit In Your Headlights" by UNKLE. I liked the fact that I shook the static sensation of this shot using some vibrant colours and decoration. The subjects seems to be frozen in time, waiting for someone that will save them.
InkTober day 8 "Crooked" Meh! I'm not really happy with the way this one came out; c'est la vie! It's the back of a dogs head. #blackcatink #illustration #noir #inktober2017 #piperdraconi
Morning sketch. So I was waiting for a go ahead on a 20 illo project. One of the illustrations in the project is a pair of “Chucks” so in the meantime I did a much crazier than they will be wanting version. Sometimes you just have to please yourself without all the boundaries.
I think Taco Bell Bear's mama might have drank a little too much Dew while he was in the womb. The theme of this page is "giant heads and the horrible birth experiences they yield."
Meet the characters who live in my head!
Meet all the characters who live inside my head......it can be crazy, overwhelming, paralyzing, energetic, stressful, anxious, energetic place to reside at times...
The 3x3 Illustration Annual I was recently chosen to be in, inspired this recent doodle. Fireworks went off in my head and then spilled out on this Moleskine page.
