A super deformed Big Red! It was fun to turn Hellboy into a drawing like this. Even though this is the same style I've used for other SD drawings I've done previously, I tried to add as much Mike Mignola style as I could. It was an interesting challenge. I think there needed to be something extra to go along with it, so I added a background slice full of monsters, skeletons, and other scary stuff. Some of it was inspired by various drawings from Hellboy comic covers, and some of it I make up. Please take a moment to take a closer look. I was a lot of fun to work on that, and I think I will try to incorporate more of that style into my work in the future. 3/17/2020 San Francisco. The art studio is closed because of social distancing for the Coronavirus. My teacher sent out a note with a sketch she did and suggested we do a drawing a day during this isolation, to stay calm and creative and maintain our community. A neighbor put out a bucket with free bouquets, and it inspired me to pause while I was getting dinner started and do this instead. Definitely rusty after not being in the studio for two weeks!

In this series called Identity (Identity), inspired by the people and the diversity of New York, I wanted to capture this diversity, the statics, the glamor, the fashion, the ethnicities, the culture and the splendor of this magnificent city.

Water color pencils in a monotone piece of shades of pink. This was pretty hard considering I didn't have any magenta or hot pink hues. I had to create them and it was a pleasure. This was inspired from one of the artist's Grimes cover art.
