The prompt word toward the end of October- ominous. Ravens are known to bring ominous news! Although that may be influenced from Game of Thrones (I miss that show!), 'Dark wings, dark words", as Old Nan used to say! And they say that the elves in the Wilderness had no names for their gods , perhaps that is why they have all been forgotten .
They did not call them gods , the elves liked to call them "spirits" .
The unknowable primal forces granted them abilities .
They could implore the trees for aid .
And call upon mighty winds to defend them .
And ask the rivers and rain for healing and comfort .
And in return, they tended the garden of the great spirits , ever watchful and protective of the many lifeforms that lived within the great circle.
We are all part of the great circle, the only way to escape it is to cut yourself off form everyone and everything , it is a hard path ... . . . . thank you
Pastels...I've never been a huge fan of working with them, mainly because I can never seem to get them to blend or move the way I want. I think this turned out okay; it's not the worst it could've been...not the best. It was fun to try, considering the fact that I rarely try new mediums, and it got my mind off everything I've been worrying about. Anyway, enjoy.

This started out like other doodles of mine, but quickly morphed into something a bit more deliberate and complicated.
A steampunk city in the land of Nornwan. Filled with wonderful alchemy shops, steam engines, dirigibles, dashing top hats and robots! Orkinia is here with her special little Chubby to see the sights!
The GobKing of old was rumored to have used his own parents skulls for the drumsticks. He waged a war so great and horrendous that none dare speak of it in Nornwan.
