Continuing my insect series. This yellow jacket was drawn with Micron pens and water-based markers. I used graphite for the shadow and a Gelly Roll pen for highlights.

I know the prompt was warm colors, sadly if I did the jacket in pink or red it would've been George or Ringo. Anyway, a quick but fun sketch. the Jack of the Lantern. He stalks through the night on his broom of flame. Laughing all the way to unholy Hell. He takes what he pleases, he takes many souls. And he vanishes into the darkest of the shadows.
I painted HP Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe in order to spook up Halloween. I'll probably do Stephen King, too, at some point, and maybe Shirley Jackson. Anyone have any other favorite horror novelists?
