(I had gotten some new fine-point pens last week, and I figured this was a good way to test them out.) Two very different things have been on my mind lately, maybe there's a connection? I think it's interesting how it's taken me 4 years to figure something out, become comfortable enough to open up to others about it, and then embrace it. Yet it's like living a double life, being authentic to some and keeping secrets from others. On the other hand, to the person receiving this drawing, I know I can't do anything to change the situation even though I wish I could. All I can say is I'm forever grateful for all you do, and I truly hope you decide to take advantage of all the opportunities coming your way.

Soooo.... there's Keeper of the Lost Cities, and there's Star Wars... but what if you combine them? This is the one and only O-Biana Kenobi (Obi-Wan Kenobi and Biana Vacker). I'm actually really, really proud of this, so if you don't mind liking it, I would really appreciate it :) I plan on doing more things like this in the future, such as Emperor Palpitam (Tam Song and Emperor Palpatine) and Darth Vacker (Darth Vader and Fitz Vacker). If you haven't seen Star Wars GO BINGE-WATCH THEM!!! If you haven't read KotLC GO READ THEM ALL!!! I myself am only on 6/8.5 books in that series... anyway I hope you like this... because I worked really, really hard on it.

I strongly feel we need more nonsense & mindless meaningless windows of imagination & for those who r not afraid to go on a courageous personal adventure... enjoy! This came about from a doodle. Doodling is a combination of skilled scribbling, mindless direction & abstract tracing. Doodling [For Me] is not sketching someone's portrait or rendering a photo. It's freely skating w a pencil or pen along a drawing surface & searching for discoveries & different unusual paths that some how result in some lovely surprises. So here ye go. Whenever i hear the word 'graphic' on the news, my mind goes to art rather than the abrupt visual they feel needs a warning [Which i guess is a courtesy for some folks who just might not be able to handle such a site & prefer to look away.] Well, luckily, I'm not Pollyanna about this... As a creative, it is nearly impossible to hear that word 'graphic' & not flex my creative muscle & treat it w an alternative visual thot... 24/6! [I take Sundays off.] I was never fortunate enuf to attend college or to study graphic arts. But I actually think that this is a skill & craft of immense talent. To create aesthetic colors & shapes & beauty & what seems like using the most simplistic of techniques yet w the greatest of impact is simply mesmerizing to me. Why that color? Why that shape? & yet... it works!!!! So here is my attempt to simulate such a masterful profession but w a bit of humor.

I like imagining static objects having human feelings and expressions. This little plumb one is telling me its emotion of the moment, perhaps contemplative sadness? Waiting for its time to shine?
In an ambiguous relationship, people's minds are always guessing. Pull a rose petal. Yes, he likes me. Pull another petal. Oh no, he doesn't like me. Even after tearing a bunch of flowers, the answer remains unclear.
have you ever seen the part in a bug's life where he flies into the wall, shows a thumbs up and says "I'm okaaay". that's how I imagine saying the title of this image. I added some bruises and stuff so I didn't have to explain to my younger sisters that I was referring to an emotional state of mind
It's not exactly a cat. Based on Eugene the Jeep from Popeye the Sailor Man. Look it up --- it looks nothing like a cat. But, alas, my subconcious mind went, "tail, means cat," and I drew this. Their name is Jeepers.
This painting was done for my sister. She loves dolphins, and she asked me when I
would paint a picture for her. When I considered doing this painting, I thought about
how I could design an illustration that would use the names of fish to teach her the
attributes of Jesus being the Son of God and Savior of the world.
The names of the fish who reveal something about Jesus’s attributes are labeled in red,
just as in a red-letter edition Bible, the words spoken by Jesus are printed in red.
The names of the fish whose labels are blue are different breeds of angelfish.
Three dolphins represent the trinity of God—the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit.
The silhouette of the three men on crosses represent the price Jesus paid on the cross
to buy man out of slavery of sin and deliver man from being cast into the eternal lake
of fire.
The black-and-white fish is called a sheep head. John the Baptist called Jesus the lamb
of God, who would take away the sins of the world.
The reddish-orange fish is called a flaming angel. John said that he baptized people
with water to call themselves back to God and to repent for their sins. He said that
Jesus would baptize with fire the person called the Holy Spirit. The gold-yellow fish
is called the shepherd angel. In the Bible, Jesus is referred to be the Good Shepherd
because He takes care of His followers as a sheep herder would take care His sheep. He
provides for their needs and protects them from danger.
The brown fish with the fanned-out fins is called a lionfish. The Bible call Jesus the
lion of Judea. Jesus first came to the Earth to deliver mankind from sin by offering His
life to pay for our sin. The second time He comes, He will come to set up His earthly
kingdom and rule over all the nations for a thousand years.
The small fish with a scarlet head is called a king demoiselle fish. Jesus will have all
authority to rule over all the nations given to Him from God the Father.

The large orange fish with the green fins is call a rainbow parrot. The rainbow represents a covenant between man and God. Just as God put a rainbow in the sky once
the great flood ended to remind man of God’s promise not to destroy the world by
flood again. So, do we have a covenant through the blood of Jesus that if man will
accept the terms to be delivered from sin, its eternal punishment, and turn from pursuing a rebellious life toward God, God will give them eternal life.
The sleek brown-and-white fish is called a schoolmaster. Jesus spent the last three years
of His life teaching about who God is, what heaven is like, what hell is like, what sin is,
and how it keeps man separated from God. What is God’s plan to redeem man from
sin? He taught how man should live to be pleasing in God’s sight.

Outside my drawing table window are straight and weeping birches. We lost one of the birch trucks and, tragically, a beautiful OLD Japanese maple during an ice storm a few years ago. The third trunk is still in my mind's eye.
