Hello All, Hope everyone is keeping well......I started another ' Lockdown' doodle this week. Working on Mixed Media paper with Pen & Ink and Aqua spectrum Noir pens. The Spectrum pens are really chunky and take a while to get used to handling , but they are very useful for colour blocking larger areas and the colours are intense. I've been using these all year now and love them. The Flamingo Garden Doodle , I turned into a repeat pattern for my collection of Printed Ladies accessories for my new website which I'm working hard on and hoping to Launch very soon. :-)

Some fashion Sketches today - they go as a pair together, so that’s why they’re are edited into the same pic ( cos i don’t have doodleaddicts pro lmaoo). It's official. I've gone to the dark side and fallen in love with acrylic gouache - specifically the Liquitex one. Hey everyone, sorry for such a long hiatus! The main reason is that I haven't been drawing so I had nothing to post. I also went through a name change, from BurningCinders to Umbra! For this piece, I played around with some new brushes and attempted to play with fog for the first time.
A commission that didn't work out. They had something specific in mind but hadn't relayed that. I will learn to ask more questions in the future :) live and learn! I'll likely post the new one when it's done.
Been a busy couple of weeks, school holidays are always a bit tricky to find time. I have been working on some illustrations for a software product that my husband and I are building so I can't share those at this stage but I was back at the gallery today sketching with my new drawing group, I spent most of my time with a bunch of Mesoamerican statues. I am starting to not get so freaked out by people watching me draw :)
I was assigned in art class to draw/paint/whatever something to do with reset... at first I, just like everyone else, pictured a reset button. After some thinking though, I remembered how each time my family moved from state to state, it was like I had a reset button, a fresh new start. Also, haha fun fact, the random sharpie lines were a result from listening to fast pace rock.

This drawing began as just a random sketch of a face then over time i gave into my creative thirst lol. I'm new to art so this was an adventure I suppose. After looking at the drawing for a while I came to a realization theres a hidden meaning to it ill leave it up to you tho. Please comment or criticize, maybe even make suggestions thank youuu.
Doodling has become an essential part of new beginnings in my life. The blank page is encouraging unplanned art that surprises me and pushes me in new directions. This piece speaks to me of fresh starts and flowing into the future full of change and magical possibilities.
