It's Our Lady of Amercia! It's one of my favorite devotions to Our Blessed Mama in Christ. She called the United States to Purity and a good Family life. The messages also focused on a devotion to the Holy Family (Earthly Trinity) and a focus on the Trinitarian Indwelling (Since the Holy Spirit cannot be separated from the Father and the Son it goes to show that the whole Trinity has a part in our interior life). I made this with watercolor, a touch of white/tan acrylics and a lil black pen dab for the pupils. It was International Friendship Day yesterday, so I made a little something. Pokémon is a huge part of my childhood, and I'd like to draw something for it. I forgot that this prompt was for last week, but I figured I'd upload this anyway. It's definitely a simple drawing; I think it turned out pretty okay. I rarely use markers and I don't usually draw mythical creatures/aliens, so this was pretty interesting to do.

Superstition : Cigarettes. The superstition that it is bad luck to light three cigarettes from one match appears to have originated during the Boer War. It was said that a sniper could spot where men might be as the first cigarette was being lit, take aim as the second was ignited and fire with deadly effect at the third. 3/17/2020 San Francisco. The art studio is closed because of social distancing for the Coronavirus. My teacher sent out a note with a sketch she did and suggested we do a drawing a day during this isolation, to stay calm and creative and maintain our community. A neighbor put out a bucket with free bouquets, and it inspired me to pause while I was getting dinner started and do this instead. Definitely rusty after not being in the studio for two weeks!

I tried using blue again, i like it better when it comes to these types of drawings (eyes, trees, buildings) but i will definitely be using black for creature and animal drawings. Let me know what you think, comment any tips for improvements, or even just to say what you do like about it; feedback is welcome on all my art.

Emotionally speaking, this is definitely the hardest pieces I've made so far. On July 18th, 2019, an arson attack on Kyoto Animation's Studio 1 left 36 dead and 34 injured, one of the deadliest mass casualty incidents in Japan since the end of WWII. KyoAni has some of the best working conditions in the industry and have made some of the most iconic anime to date, including Clannad, A Silent Voice, and the show that got me started on anime, Violet Evergarden (as seen in this drawing). I sent this drawing to them through their website, and there's a good chance it was displayed along with thousands of other fan submissions in Kyoto this past November as part of a public memorial service. While this was a tragic blow to the company and community, they're healing and getting back to their feet, and I can't wait to see what they create next.

This one was definitely fun to make! It was created during the chilly nights that November brought. I'd like to say I learned a lesson from this painting, actually. I learned that sometimes it's okay to doubt yourself. The background in this painting was originally pure black with out lettering. It sat in my room for days, but in the pit of my stomach I felt that it just wasn't right. Eventually, I surrendered to the daunting sensation and started incorporating other colors into the mixture. Slowly, but surely, life was brought to what was originally just a plain idea.

I was gifted a pad of Yupo watercolor paper. The color vibrancy is unreal! Definitely a learning curb but the results are so fun. Plus this got me painting again. Working digital is such an easy fall back, but nothing beats a brush to paper.

Tried out some layerish-style flowers using the alcohol markers. Not sure weather I like the result or not, but it’s definitely worth mastering the medium for the effects are rather cool. In theory... Unfortunately the camera sharpens the image and the flowers are more soft and blurry in reality. They look rather fancy and mysterious on the opposite side, too.

The freshness of morning withdrew in front of the warm rays of the sun. The Wizard of Cirilo Bum and I came to the High Meadow, one beautiful gazebo, where we planned to spend a day off. - Only those who work hard and get their work done, fully enjoy all the pleasure of a vacation - said the wizard Čirilo Bum. Hidden in the crown of a large oak tree near us, pointed snake watched their game with their big green eyes, but I noticed that she quickly dropped into sleep. Then I remember that I did not do some important jobs yesterday, Čirilo Bum will definitely see it when we get home. It spoils my mood a bit, and I pulled out of the baskets a few of the dried sausages that the old wizard worked so well. Full stomach I always better mood. - There are rare opportunities to see the Big Redbeak - suddenly spoke Cirilo Bum - bird right now wants to snatch egg. I stared for a while around so Čirilo Bum says: I said Big. And indeed, I find him so big that several other creatures sought accommodation in his body. Cirilo Bum spent almost all day hovering in the crown of the old yew, napping with a satisfied look on his face. Every time I was constantly tortured by the fact that I would have to listen, a critic of the old wizard, when we come home because of my unsolved tasks. My nervousness I softened so that I ate all the food from the basket. Late in the afternoon, we went home, from the trees they began to descend some new, hitherto unseen beings in search for food or night hideout. Spirit of water was gone, but a good part of the way, perhaps from curiosity, we were followed by other inhabitants of the World of Fantasy, were to me welcome companions, I took my thoughts with them, to the house. I decided to practice posing with a character that has a certain style. I also wanted to test a design for my artist logo. I will definitely be making a digital version of this character in the near future. Colored with Artify alcohol-based markers, and a white Gellyroll pen for highlights.
