I try to do a couple of birds a week (obviously don't post them all). This is based on an on-line photo reference drawn with a "soft" Palomino Blackwing pencil and a 4B Koh-I-Noor Hardtmuth Progress woodless pencil. Hence the dark velvety black.

I believe the future is about connection. Sometimes it seems that technology is making us more alone, but I like to believe that with every post, like, comment, follow, share, email and tweet, we are making ourselves more visible to one another. And together, we can make ourselves heard... Keep it positive, keep it loud, and keep it going forever.

Drawing homes is my new form of meditation. I get lost in building the structure slowly, line after line. I could do this forever...

This sketchbook is my therapist. Not this one specifically, but any single one small enough to fit in my pocket. I tell it everything, from quirky thoughts and funny notes to abstract concepts, drawings and positive reminders. Another commission and another Springer. These are one of my favourites to draw as theres such a mixture of texture and shape.

This is little Finley the Border Terrier. He is a recent commission. I haven't ever drawn a dog so really enjoyed doing this whilst trying to keep to my black and white line style.

Also known as Peruvian Lily or Lily of the Incas. My mom’s favorite flower. Her Mother’s Day gift.

I asked my husband (who is our Covid-period grocery shopper as I am high risk) to bring home a fruit to draw. He came home with a dragon fruit. For those who don't know this interesting edible, it's from a cactus. There are two species: the Asian species is white inside, the Central American variety is shocking pink (see photo). Great in smoothies or when nicely ripe (as this one was) it's tasty eaten out of the skin with a spoon.
