Lately, I have been focusing on making art cards so that my work is more accessible to anyone who is interested but doesn't want to invest in a large original piece for their collection.
(HB pencil on a 139mm x 87mm postcard) It's not surprising that the pandemic would inspire me to do a work such as this. How could it not? It shows both the growing need for social interaction people have in isolation, along with the need to protect themselves. These two things have come together in a piece depicting a strange group of gate-crashing party-goers.

I have been wanting to explore the concept of creating a Vitruvian Women. Also felt like I struggled with the composition of the Reflect piece (which I am working on developing a series). Hence trying to learn from the best - in a scientific way:)

This is an old piece created as part of a series of illustrations for a poetry book entitled "Fruit and Bones" by Elizabeth Zimmers (Yon) back in 2002. Had prints made and just found them again - so I added them to my website ~ which is still a work in progress. Please visit and let me know your thoughts! Next is to add more originals and prints. This is an experiment, I was trying to make a paper doll. I haven't cut out the pieces yet, but I'll post a picture tomorrow with the doll wearing the clothes. I also experimented with shading on the hair, and a different way of drawing it. I'm really sorry the picture is on it's side, I will fix that next time I do one of these.
It’s showing the effects of bullying, like suicide. It’s shown through still life objects, and this color scheme made it more intense that’s why I chose it! Hope you enjoy a piece that took me one month to fully finish, the rope took a while!

I decided one day to do some shading on one of my little cartoon fairies. This is the result. A fun little piece featuring a fairy and little lightning bug discovering each other. :)
The finished piece is 24 x 32 inches on 300lb. hot-pressed watercolor paper ~painted with watercolor and ink. There were a lot of components I wanted to incorporate in this piece. Then, the painting kept "going". It moved of its own accord in places I did not anticipate, and I kept going with it....people that I know/have known intertwined in my mind as I painted the tree branches. Overall, the painting took on so many meanings to me as it matured
Pencil sketch with colored pencil on sketch paper. I inadvertently sprayed this piece with spray adhesive before spraying down again with fixative, then added the color pencil. I thought it lost at first, but it turned out well in the end. The dancing mushrooms are there for the poor fairy's therapy after her harrowing ordeal.
Water color pencils in a monotone piece of shades of pink. This was pretty hard considering I didn't have any magenta or hot pink hues. I had to create them and it was a pleasure. This was inspired from one of the artist's Grimes cover art.
