Wonder Woman

As a child of the 70s, I have very fond memories of sitting on the floor in front of our little colour TV, and watching and adoring Lynda Carter bounce around, kicking ass and fighting crime. I’ve always loved Wonder Woman, and I'm fascinated by the myriad ways she’s been imagined and re-imagined over the years. For mine I focused on her dualism – the goddess beauty vs warrior strength, combined with the colour and curves of my childhood. In terms of the art, I thought it would be fun to allude to classicism for the subjects association with Greek mythology and form, and balletic contrapposto as a homage to Lynda's classic spin. Prints available via my website.

The great wave

Iam always mesmerised by the print of the great wave by Hokusai, it is stunning, I just had to recreate it, it is so much more detailed and time consuming than it first seems, but loved having a go at. I know there are no boats, I didn’t want them, just sky sea and land!

Moleskine Girl

A first upload to doodleaddicts. This girl came from one of my many little moleskine sketchbooks, and was converted into a very first attempt at riso print. The illustration itself is part of a city project by Risotto Studio - RISO CLUB: ISSUE #24 – HONG KONG

Mandela
1/3

Definitely doodling---This is my first mandela and it ranged from great fun to great frustration. It ended up a little "waby swaby," but I suppose that's in keeping. It's 12 inches across with 32 points. Drawn with a micron pen, then colored in markers (in whatever colors I happened to have) and has colored pencil shadows. I scanned it into PhotoShop and played with altering colors. Made a green one for my green-crazy friend and a subdued desaturated one for myself. It's quite printable on my oversized color laser printer---so ill be a fun "social distancing" poster gift for my friends. Each one with a personal color range.

Sea Change

Sea Change Print of a pen and ink 9 x 4.75 " This is an old piece created as part of a series of illustrations for a poetry book entitled "Fruit and Bones" by Elizabeth Zimmers (Yon) back in 2002. Had prints made and just found them again - so I added them to my website ~ which is still a work in progress. Please visit and let me know your thoughts! Next is to add more originals and prints. I am not done with the print on demand but fill ht need I need to add more. Her poetry was awesome to illustrate - eerie and mystical. She has also written some books https://elizabethzimmers.wordpress.com/about/

All Done! I’m pretty happy with how it turned out, but a few of the proportions are way off... but oh well. And I absolutely suck at manes(hair) soooo ya. Also I was curious, I’m thinking about getting some prints made of my artwork to sell, do any of you think you or someone you know would be interested in prints? Just curious, thanks! Hope you all are healthy and well! Photo by: Photography by Kelly and Kelly
