Day job blues... relatable?

I keep coming back to this Vice headline I saw and took a screenshot of this time last week, which inspired the title of this piece. Seems like a relevant metaphor to me (and others I know) for so many reasons right now! Thankfully nothing too traumatic in my case...

Rainy days = a perfect excuse for a shedload of coffee and drawing to indulge in. :) Occurs to me I did one with the title “Laurel Weaver” close to four years ago. Not much else connects the two beyond the title or does it? I don’t know... Whatever the case, I fancied recycling and revisiting this idea somehow. Enjoy!

Way back in '88 I was staying up late, Playing games like Donkey Kong (and of course Pac-Man was great!) Smashing barrels, chomping dots, chased by Blinky, eating Clyde- Climbing ladders, jumping fire all to make that princess mine!

It's casual Friday with scientists in jeans, With half of them relaxing and the others breaking things. Sweeping robots with a broom is taxing (work's not any fun!) But they're leaving for the weekend soon and all work must be done!

We were bears with pine needles in our stomachs and anyone who dared come near our winter lair was torn to pieces. We were lavish with the wood, and threw log after log on to the fire until it roared. Sometimes we growled. So some of these images are concepts covers for Monster. I'm done setting dates. When I finish it, I finish it. But until then, concepts. Monster is going to be story based on mental health with a mix of religion. I have stories inside and they are scratching to get out. But the struggles are real and I'm trying to get the images out and onto the screen, paper, and ink.
