Like I said getting a good likeness of someone in a portrait is a very tenuous grasp...I start out well...looks like them...hey I captured that...just a little off...Oh Crap! Still, I keep trying.
I tried to catch my breath after all the running; I finally got to the bus stop. The wind was blowing vigorously, the rain clouds were approaching. It was a very typical spring morning.
I've recently made a card display for my cards and prints at an art space I'm exhibiting in for a while. Had to doodle the back, I couldn't not the doodle the back, which I think adds to the charm of my display being handmade and selling my merch... After 1-2 week ago i had a lot of work and had a stress.So on this weekend in a evening i went out for relax time with my closefriend and enjoy with jazz song night. Then I come back to sketch with watercolor for my memory.
I'm working on a series of childhood stuffed animals versus child monsters (i.e. the safety of home vs the real world and its bullies). I haven't done the monsters yet, but here are the stuffed animals. I drew them from memory as opposed to referencing what Cheer Bear and Rainbow Brite's dog looked like. I looked after. I didn't get them quite right. That's OK; I think the wonkiness adds to the charm. These are drawn in reverse for a woodcut effect, then scanned and printed and gone over with gouache and watercolor.
Recently I've started a new series of spoooky illustrations! I'll be making a paranormal painting for each letter of the alphabet and the ten numerals. Stay tuned for more!

I painted this doll with the face of a middle aged woman. I like how distressed she looks, and the glasses complete the look. I sew on hair, but it just made her look normal so I removed it.
had to paint light through trees in watercolor. The pattern on the chair was a pain in the butt, but I think it came out ok. Winsor & Newton professional watercolors on Blick premier cold press 140lb watercolor block. This is the first time I've used Blick Watercolor paper. It held up well, but the painting came out kind of light (not sure if the paper had anything to do with that, though). At any rate, I bought a bunch of it, so I guess that's what I'm using!
