This was my first drawing for the Graham's Up the Tree book. I used my most trusted pen: Metal Pilot Falcon, Soft Extra Fine.

This 11" x 14" bold, dynamic, geometric abstract makes a unique statement. Lines and curves, angles and shapes in stark black and white convey the arbitrary, yet methodical . . . random, yet systematic nature of the universe . . . and our lives.

Daily drawing 635 Princess Leia is captured by Jabba the Hutt, a giant, slug-like alien who's also a kind of gangster lord. Fisher said, "I remember that iron bikini I wore in 'Episode VI,' what supermodels will eventually wear in the seventh ring of Hell." She's also said that her favorite moment in the "Star Wars" films was killing Jabba the Hutt. "I had a lot of fun killing Jabba the Hutt. They asked me on the day if I wanted to have a stunt double kill Jabba. No! That's the best time I ever had as an actor," Fisher told The Guardian. I found an old book of sheet music. I think it makes for a nice background. The marks are simple here but I like the overall big gestures.

Commuter Sketches - Morning on the Orange Line

My husband has a chronic illness and frequently spends weeks in the hospital. I have been doodling each day while sitting with him and many of them reflect my thoughts at the time. Often appearing are desperation, hope, frustration, sarcasm, fear.

These masters of leaf-like camouflage can be found throughout Southeast Asia, with some of the biodiversity hotspots being Indonesia, Malaysia, and Papua New Guinea .
