There's a moment in Black Panther where Michael B Jordan's character steals an African mask from a museum. When the other character with him asks why, he says "I'm just feelin' it." The mask he grabbed was VERY cool, and I kind of wanted one, too. But, short of stealing things out of museums, I guess I'll have to draw them. I liked her so much I drew her again, but I learned some things about her. (Damn those hands, gotta work on them.) Concept art Name: Carina Age: ??? Race: Demon (Father is a demon, mother human) Ethnicity: Her mother was a young Italian woman who was tricked into falling in love with a demon. Status: Sorceress Abilities: She wields a staff that consumes souls of the living. She uses those souls to feed her power. Extra (for now): The globe on her staff is an ancient artifact in which she had to prove her will and strength to achieve it. The artifact draws out the souls of her victims. But before it does, it puts them in a trance like state to keep them immobilized.

I was doing a drawing for this picture when its done.

It was one with dark intent. "You will never leave. This is your home. So enjoy the attention as you get it."

After 1.5 hrs of experimenting... It wasn't easy to decide on what body shape my character should have. Through an "intuitive approach" of shifting anatomical proportions, it was still decided to remain on an avian's concept instead of a wyvern's. Wyvern can be kept to the wyvern... The phoenix needs something more like an bird's, after all. p.s: I also have to remember to keep the neck shorter...

It has been a while since I last felt that I had a good day. Got myself together to draw, and the first thing that came into mind was to continue this character design project. Tried a mix between shades of grey, pale blue, with a tint of purple. Overall, the practice in drawing bird anatomy is slowly getting there. But yea... This is not a Blue Jay... I might have went a little too blue.

Elias Rosenshaw 8/29/2025 Mixed media on toned tan paper. Starting next week, I'm going back to college. I'm very excited for my courses, especially art & writing. It will be a great opportunity to explore my curiosities, improve my art skills, and grow as a person. I will share my art assignments if my instructors allow it. I would also like to write a little about each piece, which may be required for my assignments anyway. Lately, I've been inspired by fantasy & fairytale artwork. I think fantasy & horror will make good focuses for my pre-BFA portfolio. This was a little experiment with a fairytale aesthetic. One of my goals is to use limited art supply sets & swap out colours as they run out. I feel the first colours I picked out fit with aesthetic well. I'm proud of this drawing, especially the dress & the night sky. However, I can see some areas that I should've done differently. I'm not happy with the proportions & foreshortening of the limbs. Also, I shouldn't have used a background colour for the flowers. I added the colour to cover up a smear from the watercolour. I should avoid making large areas of solid colour, especially with my coloured pencils. I am learning & improving.

He was able to convey true, deep emotion through words, through many unfinished stories. Now, through the ending of the Story. These stories have contributed a lot to my life in 2020, as I wrote about in “Split Of… Personality”. Like for many others, he inspired me to create. I wrote “Split Of Fate”, deleted it, now I'm bringing it back to life, but I also have other plans - regarding the stories of Of The Wilds… but more on that later… This was difficult to draw. Difficult without getting eyes wet. Just a quick doodle… Well, if I were nearby, I would place an apple on his grave.

St. WIlgefortis. Patron Saint of facial hair and of people seeing a refuge from abusive husbands (and fathers). When I was doing my research into existing Patron Saints, I stumbled onto St. Wilgefortis. I thought that was a fun combination - until I read to the end. From Wikipedia: "According to the legend of her life, set in Portugal and Galicia, she was a teenage noblewoman who had been promised in marriage by her father to a Moorish king. To thwart the unwanted wedding, she had taken a vow of virginity, and prayed that she would be made repulsive. In answer to her prayers she sprouted a beard, which ended the engagement. In anger, Wilgefortis' father had her crucified." I considered giving her a knife, to fight off the unwanted husbands and vile fathers, but that would not be true to her suffering.
