@okat awwww.... thank you so so much! I am trying! I have only been seriously drawing again for the last couple of years after being a mummy and teaching so really putting everything into it to try and make a living out of it. Not going too well so far but i'm not giving up yet!! I'm living the dream or trying too!!!! your lovely comments really help me to keep going. Thank you.

@JuliahillIllustrator I'm so glad this community is a support to you. I hope you find a way to make it out there. I'm in sort of the same boat. I've been freelance illustrating for years but after having my full-time position eliminated a year and a half ago, I have been putting a lot of time into making my stuff better, more marketable and trying to get smarter with the business side of things so I could do this full-time. It's a ton of work and my wife, son, and I are on life support money wise, but I feel like things are ready to take a turn and want to hang in and keep at it.

Me and you both then! I worked at the Wildlife trust after doing 2 HNDS at college when I was younger and went into teaching when my girls came along. I still kept my hand in doing odd bits and printing cartoons onto bags but I had a stroke in 2007 at 39 and it left me with a condition that causes symptoms like mini strokes. I have clusters of them a lot. I LOVED my job at school but it was causing inconsistencies in my ability to teach so I went back to uni in 2014 to do an illustration degree. Then I thought I could work for myself and work round it. It's not really wor ked so far! With no income I am sinking fast!!!! I have been given an opportunity to supply a fab website with my illustrated plates so I am running a FUND ME with my prints on my Facebook and Instagram pages to get it going. I'm getting there and hope this will get me on a better road income wise. I just love your work. The colour and interpretation is just brilliant to me. So opposite to what I do which is so finicky and precise. I couldn't be that free if I tried!!! Your work is so inspiring to me and loads of other's too I expect. Keep plugging away. I am constantly plugging myself all over the Internet....it has to get us somewhere surely!!!
