Wow! I faved the canvas versions of these, then I saw the post-it originals...the canvas ones have a more polished look, but I’m really taken with the vibrant energy in these. The use of the paper color to create the positive shapes, and the ink drawing being dedicated to creating the negative spaces—this is exciting to look at. Maybe because it would turn my brain inside out to attempt it.
@Whitepyne Thanks for the kind words! Yeah, the whole thing started with me just doodling on the colorful post-it notes. Then during quarantine I had these cheap canvas boards and old paint that was similar in color to the original post-its so I thought it would be fun to re-create them.
I dug up this rock while hiking the Negev desert in Israel last year. It’s sharp and kinda chalky and it feels like it has stories to tell when you look deep into its lines and layers.
