The Life Of A Dancer

I guess the life of a dancer looks nice but- I have to thank @neuromancer Bc he did the outline for this so... thanks to his “anatomy drawings” I made this. Thanks! :)

:-) You work with tracing, right?

@Neuromancer mostly. I do some free form stuff. Like the other recreation with the girl in yellow. But I mostly trace outlines of things because it helps me understand bodies and how they move through space. Sorry if that doesn’t make sense LOL.

But I do a bunch of free form just sometimes I don’t understand the pose or somthing.

lol dancing is so much harder than it looks. You go to practice looking prim and proper then you come home drenched, sweaty, tired and hungry lol

@DawnClouds69 I know right. I did it for a while actually. It’s quite hard and everyone is quite hard on you. I just started roller derby instead LOL.

@GBsNightmare You wrote "But I mostly trace outlines of things because it helps me understand bodies and how they move through space.". That's interesting, because I was never able to to understand positioning in space from outlines. Outlines are already a 2D projection of the 3D object. For me it was always luck if positions of the outline features matching each other. I had not much control and was never able to rotate or adjust outline characters dependendent on the situation or transfer a pose. My breakthrou in getting more control over objects was as I started drawing with an construction based approach. You construct everything with an itterative process from simple 3D forms. With this technique you can for example draw a flower based on a picture, but you will not copy exactly, you analyse how it's constructed and build your own flower, which looks like a similar flower from the picture, but you have control how similar or if you want variations. I'm on beginner level, but if you need ideas how to try construction based approach with zero previous knowledge, let me know.

@Neuromancer wow okay. Thats a lot. I will let you know. Thanks. :) I think it’s interesting that you think that.
